workshop in Sydney is an introduction to
Self-Directed Services and Personal Budgets in disability, mental health, aged care,
family support, early childhood intervention, chronic illness
self-management and education.
It will explore the
various elements of system
change in Australia in this direction.
It will include sessions on global trends, emerging
opportunities in Australia, education and advocacy for system change, partnerships with providers, consumer market-power and its
potential, and individual and family leadership.
The format and style of the
workshop will be interactive, with an emphasis on informing,
learning, and participation.
It is highly recommended for people
wanting to be involved in developing this agenda and effecting
change over the next two years 2009 and 2010.
Who Should Attend?
The workshop is open to
anyone with a passion for changing things in
disability, mental health, aged care, family support, early
childhood intervention,
chronic illness self-management and education.
